Does the impending holiday season arouse feelings of dread over the overwhelming atmosphere of familial togetherness and anxiety over shopping for others (or, more importantly, others shopping for you)?

Then take solace in some holiday comic relief with Allen Salkin’s book Festivus: The Holiday for the Rest of Us . The book provides an in-depth look at everything related to the holiday made famous by Seinfeld, covering everything from the varieties of festivus poles to the ceremonial airing of grievances. Salkin is holding a book signing/Festivus party Friday Nov. 18 in NYC at the Chelsea Barnes and Noble from 7-9pm (Jerry Stiller, who played George’s father in Seinfeld, will be there too). And while humorous books make great gifts for coworkers and friends, signed humorous books really go the extra mile.
If you aren’t in NYC, you can at least check out the Festivus video.
