events or The Smart Way to Shop NYC

So you’re planning your trip to NYC this summer (or even sooner) and one of the first things on your mind is hitting the NYC shops along the famous avenues and shopping districts. Having lived in New York City for a really long time (over 10 years) I can tell you that the shopping scene can get VERY confusing. There are so many shops and a lot of them are actually really good. I mean, there are some bad apples in the big apple, but for the most part shopping in New York can be a very pleasant, relaxing experience.

One of the best ways to get your shopping done is with this shopping tour company called Started by shopaholic Marla J. Hander, gives you an on-the-street experience by taking you on a tour of the top shops in NYC, getting great deals (shopping together means better discounts) and even going wholesale shopping. Visit the site for more info. I am pretty certain that you are going to love the experience. Online:

70% off at Shopbop

Mini Dress
I love this mini dress. At Shopbop normally it retails for $280 plus, but it’s available now for $80. The bad news is that you will not be able to return it as it is a final sale item. I’d recommend that you:

a. Make sure it (and other final sale items) are what you want.
b. You get the sizing information right.

Ron Herman 50-75% off

Starting January 11, select Ron Herman and merchandise will be marked down 50%. That includes top designers like Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Karl Lagerfield, Mayle, Wyeth and tons more. The last week of January, all remaining merchandise, if there is any, will be marked down to 75% off. This only happens twice a year so if you miss this one, the next one is not until September.

Saks 2 day sale

Saks Fifth Avenue

The holiday selloff has begun in earnest. Saks is having a two day sale where you can get 50% off of already reduced items. Combine that with their original discounts and you’re looking at 60 to 70% savings. There is a reason why waiting pays off.
